Happy Leap Day!

I really hate March, but it's one month closer to warmer drier weather! Plus, I like the feeling of a fresh new month to start. February was getting stale.

Shaping up...

I've gussied up my blog just a tad to get the ball rolling. It's absolutely nothing like I dream of in a sketch blog, but it will suffice for now.

Did I mention I draw comics? Sometimes I call them "doodaloos". Quick, sketchy, 3-5 frame tidbits into my life and thoughts. Justin and my best friend Kyra are often featured in them. I am constantly trying to think of a title for this series of comics but nothing has really sprung up yet. Like my ideas for the comic topic, I need to let the title come to me I suppose.

Anyhoo, here is a comic I drew awhile ago. Might I note that the redhead featured is an example person only, even I am guilty of torturing people with this behavior:

Capable

This Week's Illustration Friday Illustration:

"Capable"
You are never too small to reach great heights.

New Beginnings...With An Ugly Layout

Ignore this terrible layout, I promise with time it will improve to look a bit more...legit.

I guess I should probably introduce myself  O.o

Why hello there! And welcome to my sketch blog of illustration and beyond. I'm pigknit, but you can also call me Jessie Wymyczak. My last name is pronounced "wim-zack", just ignore all of those nonsense extra letters. I live on an island with my boyfriend Justin, two guinea pigs (Wilson & Apollo), and our newly adopted S.P.C.A cat (Dolly). You're probably picturing us sitting in bamboo chairs and drinking cocktails with umbrellas, however this is far from the truth. More than likely we are sitting on our couch bundled up from the cold blowy air outside that lasts about 3/4 of the year here in Western New York. I wasn't lying when I said I lived on an island, but Grand Island is just a small island on the Niagara River.

I graduated from Edinboro University in Spring 2011 with a BFA in computer animation. Now that I have graduated I am on to doing the grown up thing and working full time at an advertising company doing mostly graphic and web design with a little animation involved. Digital illustration didn't spark my interest until after I graduated, and I am dedicating this blog to follow my journey to learn more about it. There will be a lot of different looking techniques, with some of my comics mixed in and mayyyybe a little random posts of nonsense.

Enjoy!
